Armeria, more commonly known as sea thrift, can often be seen growing in coastal locations. It is a very versatile, evergreen clump forming perennial. The leaves are narrow, grass like and dark green.

This Armeria Maritima 'Morning Star Rose' has lots of attractive round heads of fuchsia-pink flowers. Brilliant to grow in gravel gardens, rockeries or as a dainty edging plant. Fully hardy and very easy to grow.

A great plant for pollinating insects, and has been awarded the RHS Plants for Pollinators award.

Growing Advice

A sunny location in coastal, windswept sites open to the elements has proved that Armeria can thrive just about anywhere in the UK, given a sunny location and a free-draining soil.

Once ready for planting out, space them approx. 6-12" (15-30cm) apart to give them room to fully grow and not be overcrowded.

*With a little planning you can have perennial plants in flower for several months of the year - almost all year round in milder areas.
